His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI, officially in Latin Benedictus PP. XVI, born Josef Alois Ratzinger (Latin: Iosephus Ratzinger), on April 16, 1927, was elected Pope of the Roman Catholic Church on April 19, 2005.
